The Boston Red Sox traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. While the Red Sox fandom was irate at trading away their superstar player, the Red Sox got a few interesting pieces in return. The headliner of their return is lefty starting pitcher Kyle Harrison.

In his first comments since becoming a Red Sox starter, Harrison, down in Triple-A, shared his thoughts on being sent in a blockbuster deal. Tommy Cassell of Worcester T&G Sports shared Harrison's comments on Twitter/X.

When asked about his thoughts on the past 48 hours since getting traded, Harrison called it "crazy." With how much has changed for him, going across the country, it's not a surprise that he views the experience as crazy.

Though the experience of Harrison was a crazy one, since joining the Red Sox organization, he had a positive outlook on his teammates and the team. "I felt pretty at home today," Harrison said. "Lot of good teammates here, and they're welcoming me with open arms."

Harrison will always be tied to Devers, but with what he's shown in the Minor Leagues and Major Leagues in his professional career, there is a lot of optimism surrounding what Harrison can do in Boston.

With Harrison joining a new team, there will be a lot of expectations and questions about what he can do. When he was asked what being a part of the Red Sox is like, Harrison provided an encouraging answer.

"Excited to be here," Harrison said. "Stoked about the opportunity."

While many Red Sox fans won't be able to look at Harrison without thinking of the Devers trade, he is relishing the opportunity in Boston. The team needs starting pitching, and Harrison will have a prominent role in the rotation, likely sometime later in the 2025 season.

Harrison's a 23-year-old starter and has 35 starts under his belt in the Major Leagues. He's young and has the potential to be a high-end starter in the MLB. He has a career 4.48 ERA, but his stuff on the mound is intriguing enough that he could be a huge piece going forward.

Harrison, upon joining the Red Sox, will always be looked at through a different lens. But, despite the controversy surrounding the trade that brought him to Boston, he's looking forward to the opportunity to come to a team and be a huge part of the future of the Red Sox.
