The New York Mets won their sixth consecutive game last night on the road against the San Francisco Giants. New York has outscored the opposition 29-14 over their last six games. This winning streak has consisted of a victory against the Cincinnati Reds, three wins against the Los Angeles Angels, and two victories against the San Francisco Giants. Following a rough few weeks in June/July, New York is seemingly back on the right path. Can the New York Mets keep it going?

New York holds a slim 0.5-game lead in the National League East. The Philadelphia Phillies are also playing well at the moment. President of Baseball Operations David Stearns addressed the media and said the team will be active at the deadline. There is speculation that New York will look to acquire an outfielder, starting pitching, and possibly some more bullpen help. New York acquired Relief Pitcher Gregory Soto from the Orioles earlier this week.
The New York Mets will look for their seventh straight win tonight against the San Francisco Giants. If the Mets can keep playing this well, they will be a force in the National League this summer.
