The pitching staff of the New York Mets has gotten off to a historic start this year. They have put forth 29 straight games with their starting pitchers allowing four runs or fewer to start the regular season. That is the ninth-longest streak in league history.
New York can shoot up to third on the all-time list with a few more successful starts from its pitching staff. The Mets have the lowest ERA by starting pitchers by a wide margin. This is such an exciting start for the New York Mets on the mound because of the injuries the unit has had to overcome over the first month of the regular season. Starting Pitchers Paul Blackburn, Frankie Montas, and Sean Manaea have yet to make their season debuts. Will New York’s pitching staff be able to continue carrying the team?
