The Reds are hoping Elly De La Cruz takes a big step forward this year after an exciting, but inconsistent rookie campaign. Nick Krall praised the 22-year-old during an appearance on Foul Territory.
"He's a great player. He's a great person," Krall said. "He's made some swing adjustments to quiet down his leg kick. It's shorter to the ball. I think he got a little longer as the season progressed last year. He's a dynamic talent that can play shortstop. He's got all the tools in the world ... We're looking for him to get off to a good start and sustain that throughout the season."
De La Cruz is expected to be the Reds everyday shortstop. He has all of the tools to become one of the top players in baseball.
