Oddsmakers set White Sox win total for 2023 season
Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

With less than two weeks until pitchers and catchers report, oddsmakers have been busy releasing various prop bets for the upcoming MLB season. Just recently over the past few days, many sportsbooks have also unveiled their 2023 regular season win totals.

Following an 81-81 season in 2022 and a lackluster offseason, the White Sox have an over/under that sits anywhere between 83.5-85.5 wins depending on where you look.

  • FanDuel Sportsbook: 83.5 wins
  • DraftKings Sportsbook: 83.5 wins
  • BetMGM Sportsbook: 84.5 wins
  • BetRivers Sportsbook: 85.5 wins
  • Barstool Sportsbook: 85.5 wins

This goes without saying but oddsmakers aren’t nearly as high on the White Sox as they were this time around last season. Looking back at 2022, the White Sox injured every anatomical region of the body (literally), saw underperformance from many expected key contributors, had numerous guys playing out of position, and employed a manager who never should’ve been hired in the first place. After finishing .500 with everything working against them and some unexpected twists over the past several months, it’s hard to say these odds are anything but fair for the White Sox.

Depending on how you feel about the team heading into 2023, you’re probably looking for the sites that have the White Sox pinned as underdogs to get the most value for your bets. In that case, DraftKings and FanDuel continue to be your best options not only for projected win totals but other prop bets as well.

It’s worth noting these opening over/under projections are purely speculative and will fluctuate based on betting volume. We will continue to monitor these odds throughout Spring Training.
