Heading into the 2025 season, the Baltimore Orioles were viewed as contenders. But now, with a 16-32 record and their season slipping away, the Orioles find themselves labeled as potential sellers ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported that Baltimore is unlikely to move any of its core, including Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman. However, several veteran pieces including outfielder Cedric Mullins could be trade candidates.

"With a number of players headed for the open market next winter, Baltimore could make some impactful players available."

Despite the Orioles' struggles, Mullins has quietly put together a strong season. Mullins is hitting for power and bringing his usual athleticism to the table, posting a .805 OPS with 10 home runs, 31 RBI and seven stolen bases.

In the final year of his $8.7 million contract before hitting free agency, Mullins is the kind of short-term asset that postseason-bound teams covet.

Alongside Mullins, pitchers Zach Eflin and Tomyuki Sugano are also expected to draw interest. Eflin, making $18 million in the final year of his three-year, $40 million deal, has shown flashes of reliability.

Sugano, who's posted a 3.07 ERA in his first 10 MLB starts, might be the best rotation piece Baltimore has to offer. He's playing on a one-year, $13 million contract and is set to become a free agent after this season.
