Paul Skenes Dominates The Razorbacks in Latest Outing

Paul Skenes has been one of the best pitchers in professional baseball since the moment he stepped on the mound, and on Wednesday, the former LSU Tiger put his skills on full display.

Skenes decimated the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing zero runs in 6.2 innings of work. It was a dominant effort for the former Tiger, who keeps on adding to his Cy Young resume.

Skenes allowed just four hits in his latest outing while hitting just one batter and walking none. In 6.2 innings, the Diamondbacks could only muster five base runners while Skenes was on the mound. He was virtually untouchable, and the Pirates' offense was finally able to back him up and give him an easy win.

Paul Skenes has now thrown 75.1 innings this season and has given up just 18 earned runs, giving him an ERA of 2.15, which ranks ninth in the league. Despite his 2.15 ERA in 12 starts, Skenes is just 4-5 on the year because of the Pirates offensive struggles. In four of his five losses, Skenes has given up just one or two runs. That's a testament to how bad their offense is.

There's been a lot of speculation around the league as to whether or not the Pirates will try to trade him. They're not known to shell out a lot of money to their players, so there's a good chance Skenes walks when his contract expires. If that's the case, the Pirates could look to move him at some point, but it's hard to give up a talent like Skenes.

We'll see what the future holds for the former Tiger, but I think it's safe to say he's going to dominate wherever he is.
