The Chicago Cubs found a superstar in center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong. With Crow-Armstrong in the middle of a huge season for the team, there is a lot of talk about how much he'll make in a new deal.
Near the start of the season, Crow-Armstrong turned down an extension from the Cubs. But that doesn't mean he wants to leave. During an appearance on 670 The Score, Crow-Armstrong talked about his potential extension and how he views the Cubs organization.
"That's the goal. I think what's important to me is being somewhere I feel convicted in winning at." Crow-Armstrong said. "And then obviously where I feel comfortable playing and living for a long period of time."

Crow-Armstrong's goal is to secure a long-term deal, one that pays a lot, but also keeps him around for a long time. He's also looking for a place where he can settle in and make it his home. For Crow-Armstrong, Chicago fits the bill.
"I absolutely think that Chicago is a place to do that for me," Crow-Armstrong said. "I already take so much pride in being a Cub, and what comes with that. Any way that we can get me here for a while, I think, would be ideal."
These comments from Crow-Armstrong are a great sign that not only is he interested in remaining with the team for years to come, but he wants to stay as well. It's one thing to be open to a deal, it's another to actively strive for one.
His pride in being a Cub has led him to want a long-term deal that locks him into the team for a while. A simple six-year agreement likely won't cut it. The 23-year-old wants to be in Chicago for a while, and a deal similar to that of Bobby Witt Jr. and other young stars is something Crow-Armstrong is likely looking for.
While it's going to be expensive, the Cubs should be more than okay spending it on him. He's the fourth youngest player ever to reach 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in a season, and he's already amassed 4.5 WAR through 73 games.
Keeping Crow-Armstrong long-term should be high on the Cubs' list of things to do, and with Crow-Armstrong wanting to stay in Chicago, a deal looks likely. The only question will be for how long, and how much.
