The Philadelphia Phillies are entering Monday on the verge of capturing the NL East division crown, having won eight of their last ten games.

Philadelphia’s recent hot stretch has been especially impressive given that starting shortstop Trea Turner and third baseman Alec Bohm are both on the injured list. For Bohm, his most recent injury—left shoulder inflammation—marked his second trip to the IL this year.

The 29-year-old has appeared in just 111 total games for the Phillies this season, posting a .272 batting average, .319 on-base percentage, .703 OPS, nine home runs and 51 RBIs.
After making his first All-Star appearance in 2024, Bohm has disappointed in 2025, though it’s unclear whether his slight drop-off in offensive production is due to nagging injuries.

Alec Bohm Injury Update

Ahead of a crucial series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, an update emerged on Bohm’s status as he continues to rehab his left shoulder. The Phillies revealed that if Bohm goes through his full workout during pregame and recovers well, his activation off the injured list and return to the lineup could come on Friday.

Edmundo Sosa and Alec Bohm will both go through full workouts today. If they go well, Sosa could be back in the lineup tomorrow and Bohm could return Friday when he’s eligible to come off the IL,” wrote Lochlahn March of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

This is an exciting development, as the Phillies still need to compete for at least a top-two seed in the National League to secure a first-round bye, and Bohm is expected to play a part in that.

It’s also good news that Bohm will return with two weeks left in the regular season, giving him time to build momentum offensively ahead of the playoffs.
