Phillies' Cristopher Sánchez Reaches Notable Milestone During Thursday's Start

The top-three in the Philadelphia Phillies starting rotation have been as dominant as ever this season, with left-hander Cristopher Sánchez leading the way.

Coming off of his second-place finish to Pittsburgh Pirates' Paul Skenes in last season's National League Cy Young race, Sánchez picked up right where he left off.

The 29-year-old has given the Phillies all they could have asked for through his first 24 starts of the 2026 season.

Thursday's showing was no expectation.

While Sánchez clearly did not have his best stuff, he still pitched five innings of two run ball with six strikeouts in a 7-3 Phillies victory.

This outing earned him his 15th win of the season, he became the first pitcher in Major League Baseball to reach this honor.

This is also a career-high in win for Sánchez, beating out he previous of 13.

Philadelphia has now had a 15-game winner in four straight seasons, with Sánchez, Jesús Luzardo, Zack Wheeler and Taijuan Walker reaching the mark dating back to 2023.

This milestone for Sánchez just showcases his amazing season. He is currently posting a 2.65 ERA with 174 strikeouts and 35 walks in 149 2/3 innings.

If the Phillies find their way deep into October, it will be because Sánchez is at the helm.
