The Philadelphia Phillies have grabbed hold of the top spot in the AL East division after winning 10 in a 13-game stretch.
Philadelphia has caught fire this month while the New York Mets have stumbled, clearing the way for the Phillies to take a 1.5-game lead atop the division. They will look to extend that lead in their upcoming three-game series against the Houston Astros.
It hasn't been very smooth-sailing for first baseman Bryce Harper, though – he's been going through a lingering wrist problem and has been on the Phillies' 10-day injured list while he's been rehabbing the injury since June 7.
The injury isn't new, as the wrist injury has been popping up on injury reports since May. It won't require surgery, but the Phillies have given the two-time MVP some time in hopes that he can recover.
An update on the injury came out on Tuesday, and Harper is doing his "full routine" today as the Phillies look to play the Astros in a three-game series.
"Everyone is reporting good progress; the club remains vague on a timetable. They haven’t ruled out a return this weekend in Atlanta, but next week sounds more realistic.," The Athletic's Matt Gelb posted on X.

Baseball insider Corey Seidman also addressed the situation, saying, "[Rob] Thomson didn't sound like he expected him to be activated in Houston."
Bryce Harper will do his full routine today pregame, take about 50 swings, field grounders and go through his throwing program.

Could progress to BP in the cage tomorrow if today goes well.
Progressing, but Thomson didn’t sound like he expected him to be activated in Houston.
Bryce Harper's recovery appears to be progressing well, and he's expected to return to the Phillies' lineup in the coming weeks as he ramps up his rehab.
Harper, 32, has remained productive in his 14th major league season, despite missing more than 20 games before the halfway point of the regular season.
Through 57 games played in 2025, Harper has a .258 BA, .368 OBP, .446 SLG, and .814 OPS while hitting 9 home runs and 34 RBI in 2025.
