Phillies Haven't Ruled Out a Bryce Harper Return Against Braves

The Philadelphia Phillies have been without Bryce Harper for a while now, a concerning sign as they look to continue building their lead in the National League East.

Arguably the best division in Major League Baseball, the Phillies need everything they can get when it comes to having Harper on the field. It's a tough situation for the organization to be in, but the last thing they want is for him not to be healthy.

Harper hasn't played in the game since June 5 due to a wrist injury, but is reportedly doing well. According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, Harper planned to do his full routine on Tuesday. Although the club doesn't have an exact timeline for his return, it's possible that he could be with the team on their trip to Atlanta.

Bryce Harper (wrist) is doing his ‘full routine’ today. Everyone is reporting good progress; the club remains vague on a timetable. They haven’t ruled out a return this weekend in Atlanta, but next week sounds more realistic,” he said.

Even if Harper misses this Atlanta series, it isn't the end of the world. The last thing the team wants to do is deal with a Harper injury for any longer than it already has, as he's certainly the most important player on the roster.

Fortunately, the Phillies have played somewhat well in his absence, taking over in the National League East. If they can continue to play this way, it'll allow the front office to do what's right and ensure that Harper doesn't return until he's fully healthy.
