Phillies Kyle Schwarber on pace to reach career 400 home runs this season

Philadelphia Phillies left fielder/DH Kyle Schwarber is tied for the league lead in home runs alongside Aaron Judge with 16. In his last seven games, he has five home runs and is on record pace to reach a career 400 this season. Alongside Schwarber's success, the team has resurged under interim manager Don Mattingly.

Schwarber hit his 350th career home run (113 mph EV) on April 30 against the San Francisco Giants. He achieved this milestone across 1,321 games, which made him the seventh fastest player in MLB history to reach 350 home runs.

He is currently sitting at 356 and would have to hit 44 more home runs.  This is attainable considering he's projected to hit 63 this season. If he's able to maintain the level of consistency with which he's been crushing the long ball, he could even surpass 400.

His hot streak has had him hit a home run in four consecutive games. This has been the longest home run streak by a Phillies player since Trea Turner in 2023. Last season, Schwarber hit 56 home runs, a career-high for the 33-year-old. As well, at this time last season, he had reached 14 home runs.

How Schwarber has unleashed his power surge

Schwarber has gained recognition as an elite power hitter on account of his reliable barrel rate (20.8% in 2025). This season, it ranks in the 99th percentile at 23.2 %

He's also upheld exceptional bat speed at 77.3 mph (98th percentile). This has permitted him to square the ball up, providing him with massive power.

His role as a consistent DH/LF has enhanced his high-power approach, allowing him to produce high-exit velocities (92.7 mph).

His dominance in hitting first-inning home runs has made him a major threat. His 350th career home run was also hit in the first inning.

As a high-volume hitter, his impressive 14.1% walk-rate has contributed to his solid plate discipline. His approach focuses on waiting for good pitches to hit, where he then unleashes moonshots.
