Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh channeled his inner Aaron Rowand last night, running into the centerfield wall to make a play after Royals second baseman Samad Taylor launched a ball to the warning track.

Visibly shaken up after the play, Marsh unfortunately had to exit the game. However, he was able to walk off the field, which was a positive sign.
The speedy outfielder entered the clubhouse this morning on crutches, and an MRI revealed that Marsh has a knee contusion.
Brandon Marsh was on crutches in the clubhouse this morning. He’s in good spirits. He said he knows that injuries are part of the game. The team will provide an update on his knee later.

Brandon Marsh is not going to let the injury get him down, and according to Alex Coffey of the Philly Inquirer, he was in good spirits.
I would expect Marsh to maybe get a few rehab games in the Minor Leagues before returning to the big league roster. That would probably see him returning close to the first week of September.
In a corresponding move, the Phillies are calling up Spring Training darling Weston Wilson to the Major Leagues.
Wilson is 28 years old and has never played in the big leagues. He will be making his MLB debut in light of Marsh’s absence.
Wilson is currently slashing .260/ .361/ .524/ .885 with 25 home runs in Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Weston Wilson can play anywhere and he has played 5 defensive positions for the Iron Pigs. His versatility will certainly be a tool used by Rob Thomson while Wilson is with the big league club.
Weston Wilson gets the call up with Brandon Marsh officially heading to the IL.
