The up-and-down season for Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott continues.
Here is the latest from Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer:
Rob Thomson said Bryson Stott hyperextended his elbow while swinging today. The Phillies are checking him out, and Thomson may give him the day off Tuesday to be cautious.

Thomson said he isn’t sure if this is related to the elbow/nerve issue that bothered Stott last season.
Stott’s 2024 campaign was largely hindered by a nerve injury in his right elbow. He still played in 148 games, but saw a significant drop-off at the plate compared to his 2023 efforts. Last season, Stott had a .245 batting average, a .671 OPS, and an 86 OPS+. The year before, he had a .280 batting average, a .747 OPS, and a 103 OPS+.
Those are not the most mind-blowing numbers, but Stott is also a second baseman who contributes much more than quality at-bats. Both his speed and defense have been weapons for the Phillies during his tenure, and 2025 has been no different.
Stott already has a +3 Defensive Run Value and looks well-positioned to record his third consecutive 30+ steals performance (31 in 2023, 32 in 2024, 11 so far in 2025).
However, Stott is also batting just .236 with an underwhelming .629 OPS and a 74 OPS+. His four home runs are about on track with his career output, although a 22:47 BB:K ratio is a touch high for the 27-year-old.
Assuming Stott misses a game or two, Edmundo Sosa should take over at the four. The career utility man has come back down to earth after a scorching hot start to the season. But, he still has a respectable (for a bench player) .274 batting average, a .678 OPS, and an 89 OPS+ over 95 at-bats.
Hopefully for the Phillies, this Stott issue does not linger last time.
