Player Review: Chadwick Tromp

Chadwick Tromp's stats

MLB Stats: .125/.125/.313 with one run and one RBI in 16 at-bats.

Chadwick Tromp's Offensive and Defensive Splits

In 44 innings, Tromp had 53 total put out chances, he went 53-for-53 resulting in a fielding percentage of 1.000. That stat alone garners him an A. He won't get an A+, though, because he did allow four stolen bases.

Tromp got sixteen plate appearances in Atlanta this season, going 2-16 with a double. He scored one run and picked up one RBI, while not walking and striking out seven times.

Ultimately, he was on the roster as a backup who (ideally) wasn't going to play more than once a week and he pretty much did what you expected in that situation, struggling to hit his weight and not having much of an impact at the plate.

Chadwick Tromp's contract status

Tromp will enter yet another year of Pre-Arbitration in 2024 after making a pro-rated $158,711 with the Braves in 2023. 2024 will be the last year of Pre-Arb before his first year of (Super 2) arbitration in 2025, his 30-year-old season, and he may not be tendered a contract if his salary is expected to rise significantly at that point.
