Poll Pete Crow-Armstrong or Yordan Alvarez?

Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong had a scorching-hot month of August that has placed him squarely as the favorite to be the 2026 National League MVP. Going into Monday night, Crow-Armstrong was batting .283 with 38 home runs, 91 RBIs, 99 runs scored and 32 stolen bases. He’s the first Cubs player ever with back-to-back 30-30 seasons, and he’s got a shot at 40-40.

Crow-Armstrong is so hot that he’s making some fans forget that Houston Astros DH Yordan Alvarez is also having an amazing season. Going into last night, Alvarez led the American League in batting (.317), homers (37) and RBIs (93). He’s on pace to become the first Triple Crown winner in baseball since Miguel Cabrera in 2012 — and just the second player to do so since 1967.
