Robertson most recently played for Team USA at this summer's Tokyo Olympics. However, he hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2019, when he was a member of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Robertson struck out four, walked three and recorded two saves in three appearances for the Americans, who won silver, in Japan.
The veteran right-hander owns a 53-33 record with a 2.90 ERA, 1.154 WHIP and 137 saves in 12 MLB seasons with the Phillies, New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox.
To create a roster spot for Robertson, the Rays transferred Jeffrey Springs to the 60-day injured list.
Tampa Bay currently leads the American League East with a 71-47 record, three games ahead of the second-place Boston Red Sox. The Rays open a four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles Monday at Tropicana Field.
