Red Sox Reportedly Have Decision Made on Potential Alex Bregman to Yankees Trade

The New York Yankees need a third baseman just as much as any team in Major League Baseball. With the Boston Red Sox potentially moving on from Alex Bregman, despite conflicting reports suggesting otherwise, Bregman has been brought up in talks with the Yankees.

However, according to a recent report from Bob Nightengale of USA Today, there's a “0%” chance that the Red Sox would answer the phone if the Yankees called about Bregman.

"The American League is wide open, and the Yankees are poised to take full advantage of the opportunity," wrote Nightengale . "They badly need a third baseman or a second baseman, and realize there's 0% chance that the Red Sox answering their prayers by trading them Alex Bregman."

If the Red Sox decide to move on from Bregman, they must ensure that they receive the best possible package in return. However, the last thing the team wants to do is send him to the Yankees, and they win a World Series, as they could truly just be Bregman away from winning it all.

The Yankees would be the heavy favorites in the American League, if they aren't already.

Bregman is set to hit the free agency market at the end of the year, so if there's a scenario where they either lose him for nothing or trade him to the Yankees, perhaps it makes sense.

However, if Boston makes him available, there's a very good chance the front office will get multiple calls on him, as teams will be desperate to land a top player in the league.
