After making the team out of spring training, Carson Spiers went on the injured list in the middle of April with a right shoulder impingement.

The 27-year-old had a 5.21 ERA over his four starts with Triple-A Louisville and the ACL Reds during his rehab assignment, but it was paused due to biceps soreness.

During a recent MRI, it revealed some ligament issues and on Saturday, Reds manager Terry Francona said it is trending that Spiers will have surgery on his injured elbow, according to Charlie Goldsmith.

It never seems to be good news when a pitcher is dealing with elbow issues and Francona confirmed in on Saturday.
