#BlueJays have shown interest in versatile switch hitter Marwin Gonzalez, per source. They’ve liked him in the past and he’s the type of universal adapter defender they often seek. Unclear if it’s just due diligence or more, amid club’s ongoing pursuit of pitching.— Shi Davidi (@ShiDavidi) February 7, 2021
The 31-year-old is coming off a rough season with the Minnesota Twins. He slashed .211/.286/.320 with five home runs and 22 RBI. Gonzalez's best season came in 2017 with the Houston Astros when he hit .303/.377/.530 with 23 home runs and 90 RBI.
The Blue Jays have added George Springer, Marcus Semien, Kirby Yates, Robbie Ray, Tyler Chatwood and Steven Matz this offseason.
