It’s off to triple-A Buffalo for left-hander Kendry Rojas.

Rojas, the Toronto Blue JaysNo. 6 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will join the Bisons’ staff after making just four starts at double-A New Hampshire, MLB.com’s Keegan Matheson reports.

The 22-year-old lefty has been plagued by injuries over the last few seasons, severely impacting his development since beginning his professional career in 2021. He missed a large chunk of last season and opened this season on the IL due to an oblique strain.

After returning in late May, Rojas worked his way up through the Florida Complex League (two starts) and single-A Dunedin (four starts) before arriving in New Hampshire for the first time in his career. He pitched to a 3.86 ERA and 1.76 FIP across 18.2 innings, issuing 30 strikeouts and only two walks.

When healthy, the 6-foot-2 hurler has impressed with his ability to generate swing-and-miss and minimize hard contact, morphing into one of the organization’s top pitching prospects. The current run he’s on has put him alongside the likes of Khal Stephen, Johnny King, Juaron Watts-Brown and Ricky Tiedemann, with Trey Yesavage positioned as Toronto’s undisputed No. 1 arm.

Developing major league-calibre starters has been a major crisis for the Blue Jays in recent years, which makes Rojas’ triple-A advancement even more significant. As an international free-agent signing from the 2020 class, the homegrown product is now one step closer to completing his journey through the system and appearing with the big-league club.

In Buffalo, Rojas will join a Bisons rotation that includes fellow prospects Adam Macko and Lazaro Estrada, along with experienced starters such as Easton Lucas and Adam Kloffenstein.
