Report: Former Dodgers OF Joc Pederson agrees to deal with Cubs

Joc Pederson is moving on from the Los Angeles Dodgers. According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, the outfielder has agreed to a deal with the Chicago Cubs.

Pederson will help fill in the outfield for the Cubs, who non-tendered Kyle Schwarber in December. He'll join Ian Happ and Jason Heyward in Chicago's starting outfield.

The 28-year-old spent the last seven seasons with the Dodgers, slashing .230/.336/.470. However, he struggled at the plate during the pandemic-shortened campaign, slashing .190/.285/.397 with seven home runs and 16 RBI.

Pederson played better in the postseason for the World Series champions, though, slashing .382/.432/.559. He also drew interest from the Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals.
