Hans Crouse has reportedly been seen  with the Philadelphia Phillies according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic.

Crouse was part of the trade that saw pitcher Spencer Howard sent to the Texas Rangers at the trade deadline in July. In return, Philadelphia received starting pitcher Kyle Gibson and closer Ian Kennedy.

Crouse was the third player in the deal and before suffering elbow injuries, was seen as one of, if not the, top pitching prospect in Texas' system.

With Archie Bradley placed on the injured list and the Phillies bullpen having been heavily utilized, Philadelphia needs pitching help. It remains to be seen what Crouse's role will be with the big league club or his length of tenure in 2021.

Regardless, Crouse has turned into a pitcher, rather than a thrower. His fastball is considered a plus pitch and his curveball and changeup have both improved. Crouse could be an option later in the game, despite coming up as a starting pitcher.

If Crouse gets to step on the mound, it will be his major league debut. However, it is only a matter of time before he makes it to the majors. He could be just part of the taxi squad for potential help if the bullpen needs it, still, it highlights how the Phillies made out on their deadline trade.
