Rick Ware Racing won’t appeal Justin Haley disqualification at COTA
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Rick Ware Racing won’t appeal the Justin Haley disqualification for not meeting minimum post-race overall weight following Sunday’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas, Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports reported Monday.

NASCAR disqualified Haley, who finished P17, after his No. 51 Ford did not pass post-race inspection.

“The car was just too light in post-race inspection,” Rick Ware Racing said of the disqualification.

The disqualification moved Haley to last place, P39. Haley’s 17th-place finish would have been his third top-20 finish this season.

“We had an OK day,” Haley said after the race, via RACER. “I thought we did everything right up until the end when we had a slow pit stop and kind of faded from there. I am really happy with the results we are getting. We have such a small team, and we are trying as hard as we can. I appreciate everyone at Ford and RFK for giving us the information they give us, and I am glad we are starting to apply it.”
