Ryan O'Hearn is making waves for the  Baltimore Orioles at the plate so far this season, a welcome sight in the midst of dreary moments. O'Hearn has been hitting at a .300 pace so far and it looks like he's going to stay there.

Entering Baltimore's Sunday finale against the Kansas City Royals at Orioles Park at Camden Yards, O'Hearn has three doubles, six home runs and 13 RBI to his credit. The left-handed hitter is connecting with a .563 slugging percentage and a .940 OPS.

O'Hearn played his first five Big League seasons with the Royals before joining Baltimore in 2023. He played in 142 games for the Orioles in 2024, the most of his MLB career. In 494 plate appearances, O'Hearn hit .264 with 15 homers and 59 RBI.

O'Hearn can play big role in Baltimore's fortunes

The Orioles have struggled to put together a solid streak of victories in the young 2025 MLB season. If O'Hearn can keep up his solid hitting, then Baltimore's season might turn around.

Besides O'Hearn, who else has been mashing the baseball for Baltimore? One of the team's usual suspects, Gunnar Henderson. In the past 10 games, Henderson is 12 for 39 at the plate with two doubles and a home run.

All of these are good signs for the Orioles, who have been a bit dreary in recent action. In their past 10 games, Baltimore has gone 4-6 with a .225 batting average and a 4.71 ERA. The O's also have been outscored by 23 runs by their opponents.

O'Hearn's contributions can go a long way helping the Orioles find a winning streak quickly. They need to do something now before their season slips further away.
