Saturday afternoon saw the Snakes tie the series up as the Diamondbacks beat the Royals by a score of 7-1 at Chase Field.

Ryne Nelson was dominating on Saturday as he had a perfect game going through 5.1 innings. Nelson was locked in from the very start and held it down in a statement outing as he pitched a total of seven innings and only gave up one earned run on four hits.

Arizona was able to start to get the vibes right in the third inning after Josh Naylor hit a single to center to bring Geraldo Perdomo in. Eugenio Suárez continued his hot streak as he hit a single to score Pavin Smith right after to give the D-Backs a 2-0 lead. They kept up the momentum when Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a double in the bottom of the fifth inning to score two runners and bring the Arizona lead to 4-0.

In the top of the sixth inning, Ryne Nelson was hit around as Kansas City was able to get a run in after Bobby Witt Jr. hit a single to score Freddy Fermin. Alek Thomas made a clutch sliding catch to end the inning and prevent any more damage from being done.

The Diamondbacks bullpen was able to get it done though, as Kevin Ginkel and Shelby Miller closed the door on the Royals. Arizona was able to come away with the win and will now look to take the series on Sunday afternoon at Chase Field.
