The Kansas City Royals are wrapping up their series against the Tampa Bay Rays today. The Royals lead 8-2 and look as if they’ll complete the three-game sweep of Tampa Bay. During the game, Salvador Perez, who was in the designated hitter spot, left the game due to left hip soreness. It’s not clear when or how Perez suffered the injury, but Cavan Biggio came in to pinch-hit for him in the top of the sixth inning. He is likely day-to-day, but expect an update following the game. Perez was 1-3 with an RBI double today before leaving the game. This season, he is hitting .237 with a .661 OPS. He has 11 doubles, two home runs, 16 RBI, eight runs scored, and seven walks.
