The offense of the San Francisco Giants had a historic start last night on the road against the San Diego Padres. It was the fifth time since at least 1900 that the team had started a game with back-to-back home runs. The last time it happened was in May of 2015. Left Fielder Heliot Ramos started off the festivities with a home run. First Baseman Rafael Devers followed it up with a solo shot of his own to give the Giants an early 2-0 lead. This historic start helped the San Francisco Giants squeak out a 4-3 win. Can the Giants keep it going?

It has been a disappointing season for the Giants. They are in third place in the National League West with a 61-64 record. Following a tough stretch on the diamond, San Francisco’s playoff odds sit at a mere 2.7%. San Francisco’s offense has been poor this season. They are 25th in batting average, 26th in runs scored, and 25th in runs scored.
Devers was a marquee acquisition by the ballclub. He has not played up to potential in his new surroundings. San Francisco’s pitching staff has held up its end of the bargain, but the offense has been problematic.
San Francisco’s offense will look to keep it up this evening for the second game of their four-game set against the San Diego Padres. Even though the team will not make the postseason in 2025, they will look to finish the regular season and play spoilers for the teams on their schedule.
