Seattle Mariners Acquire Josh Naylor

The Seattle Mariners tonight acquired first baseman Josh Naylor from the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Mariners are sending left-handed pitcher Brandyn Garcia, along with right-handed pitcher Ashton Izzi to Seattle. The Mariners face the Angels tonight at 9:38 PM.

Josh Nayor

Nayor this season in 93 games for Arizona is hitting .292 with an .807 OPS. He has 19 doubles, a triple, 11 home runs, 59 RBI, 49 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, and 37 walks. In 691 big league games, he is hitting .267 with a .773 OPS. He has 136 doubles, two triples, 95 home runs, 402 RBI, 302 runs scored, 36 stolen bases, and 210 walks.

Brandyn Garcia

Garcia, in 32 games in the minors this season, is 5-4 with a 3.51 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, and 42 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. He also appeared in two games for the Mariners, posting a 4.50 ERA, a 3.50 WHIP, and a strikeout in two innings. He appeared in 68 minor league games, with 25 of those coming as starts, going 11-7. Garcia posted a 2.94 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP and 184 strikeouts in 159.1 innings.

Ashton Izzi
