Seattle Mariners Catcher Cal Raleigh is putting together a season for the ages. He added to his impressive resume in this afternoon’s 2-1 win over the Minnesota Twins. He hit his league-leading 23rd home run to help the Mariners walk away with the victory.
Raleigh’s 23 home runs are four more than any other primary catches through 58 games in league history. He is also seventh in the league in ERA, third in Slugging Percentage, and fourth in OPS. Will the star catcher continue being an asset for the Seattle Mariners?

It has been a strong start to the year for the Mariners. They hold a slim lead in the National League West at 32-26. Seattle’s offense has been mediocre. They are 22nd in batting average, sixth in home runs, and 12th in runs scored. Raleigh has been Seattle’s best offensive player.
Seattle’s pitching staff has also been middling. They are 15th in ERA, 20th in WHIP, and 24th in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Bryan Woo is 19th in ERA and eighth in WHIP. Closer Andres Munoz is second in the league in saves.
Raleigh will look to continue his historic campaign when the Seattle Mariners begin their three-game set Tuesday at home against the Baltimore Orioles. He is on pace to have one of the best seasons for a catcher in league history.
