Leave it to Cal Raleigh, lovingly called the "Big Dumper," to put a big damper on the Texas Rangers on Friday, May 2. Raleigh muscled up for two home runs, including a grand slam, as the Seattle Mariners routed the Rangers 13-1 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Raleigh's efforts at the plate have not gone unnoticed by Mariners manager Dan Wilson. “Cal is obviously the story today–two homers, the grand slam,” Wilson said after the game, according to MLB.com.

Seattle is riding a five-game winning streak after Friday night's win. The Mariners are averaging 9.6 runs over those five games.
Raleigh didn't hold back on looking at his homer statistics right now. “It’s May,” Raleigh said. “But, yeah, try to keep it going.” He hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, then anchored a seven-run fifth with his grand slam.
“Really, just trying to get in a good spot to hit, not trying to do too much with,” Raleigh said of hitting a low curveball from Rangers starter Jack Leiter over the right-field wall. “I was trying to stay in the middle of the field. I was a little out front, but able to keep it fair. I feel if I try to pull that ball, I hook it foul or maybe miss it.”
Seattle has been red hot over its last 19 games, going 15-4 in that span. Look for the Mariners to stay torrid as the weekend series against the Rangers continued on Saturday.
