The season is now over, with the Braves winning their final game 4-1 over the Pirates on Sunday, and we still do not know if Brian Snitker is going to manage in 2026.
“I’ll be honest with you, I teetered on the fence,” Snitker said, via David O’Brien of The Athletic. “I’ve never been through this before. So I wasn’t sure how to navigate it. Talked to a lot of people that had been through it, and I got some good advice. And so I just tried to stay in the moment pretty much and not focus it onto (the team) on that day’s game.”
Brian Snitker continues to relay that the conversations about the future with Alex Anthopoulos have not happened yet, but nothing he’s done down the stretch are the signs of a manager that wants to retire, and he has the full support of the clubhouse.
According to Gabe Burns of The Atlanta Journal Constitution, veterans Chris Sale and Matt Olson, along with NL Rookie of the Year candidate Drake Baldwin, all voiced their support for Brian Snitker following Sunday’s season finale.
Chris Sale, Matt Olson and Drake Baldwin each endorsed Brian Snitker returning in 2026.
Sale with a smile: "Absolutely (want him back). We didn't have a celebratory sendoff for him, so he can't go."

If Brian Snitker is indeed learning towards managing one final season, it’s hard to imagine the Braves pull back and say goodbye.
Snitker has led the Braves to the postseason in seven of his eight seasons as manager, winning the NL East six times and hoisting the Commissioner’s Trophy in 2021. Combine that with the resilience his team showed down the stretch despite things going horribly wrong over the first several months, and he’s done more than enough to warrant another opportunity if he wants it.
