Shohei Ohtani Reminds Fans Of His Dominance In June
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

It was a month to forget for the Los Angeles Angels and their fans in June.

In fact, thus far it’s been a season to forget for the Halos.

But one man in particular is keeping fans engaged and interested.

Shohei Ohtani, the two-way star who continually draws comparisons to the great Babe Ruth, had himself a historic month, both as a pitcher and as a hitter.

In his last start, he went 5.2 scoreless innings and ran his streak of scoreless innings up to 21.2.

MLB tweeted a graphic featuring all of Ohtani’s stats from June on both sides of the ball, and they’re pretty good marks.

Shohei’s Hot Streak

There is nobody on the planet right now who is hotter than Ohtani.

In fact, not even the sun is as hot as Ohtani is.

He has yet to be scored upon since June 9 as a pitcher.

Batters hit just .204 against him in June.

At the plate, he had six homers, 17 RBI, and a .973 OPS.

These are video game type numbers.

Ohtani is giving Angels fans a reason to stay engaged and keep coming to the ballpark despite all of their struggles this season.

He draws people to the ballpark with his innate ability to both pitch and hit at the same time.

His abilities are second to none in Major League Baseball.

But that month of June alone should give the Angels and their fans hope that they can turn things around and get back on track in July.

If they’re going to do that, then Ohtani will need to replicate those June numbers both on the mound and at the plate.

We’ll see what July brings for Ohtani and the Halos.
