Stock up, stock down: Atlanta Braves

As we approach Major League Baseball's All-Star break, let's examine the players who have improved their stock versus those who have decreased their value.

The Atlanta Braves have followed up an injury-plagued 2024 with a similar 2025. They've dealt with numerous injuries to their rotation and starting lineup, and nearly everyone has underperformed offensively en route to a disappointing 39-48 record.

While it's easy to choose who's down for Atlanta, let's examine who's up for the Braves as well.

Stock up

LHP Aaron Bummer

Acquired from the Chicago White Sox during the 2023 offseason, Bummer has been one of the strongest arms out of the Braves' bullpen in 2025. He's posted a 2.86 ERA in 34.2 innings alongside 12 walks, 35 strikeouts and a 59.6% groundball rate. Atlanta's bullpen has bounced back after a rough start to the season, with a 3.59 combined ERA, good for seventh-best in MLB.

1B Matt Olson

Although Olson isn't quite who he was two seasons ago when he hit 54 home runs, he's still one of the best hitters in the Braves' lineup.

The 31-year-old has slashed .333/.355/.500 over his last seven games, and has a .843 OPS on the season alongside 16 homers and 56 RBI, which all lead the team. Olson has picked up the slack for Atlanta's lineup, particularly struggling former All-Stars 2B Ozzie Albies and 3B Austin Riley.

Stock down

DH Marcell Ozuna

Ozuna is among the top 10 in home runs in the league with 90 long balls since 2023. The 34-year-old has been one of the more underrated power hitters in the game, but that's all come crashing down this season. The two-time Silver Slugger has only 11 home runs with a paltry .760 OPS in 83 games, just one season removed from finishing fourth in the NL MVP voting. Ozuna's quiet bat is a significant reason why Atlanta's offense has floundered.

RHP Raisel Iglesias

Iglesias has labored to a 5.12 ERA in 2025 after saving 68 games for the Braves since being traded to Atlanta at the 2022 trade deadline from the Los Angeles Angels. The 35-year-old has logged just nine saves in 13 opportunities this season, accruing a -0.5 bWAR in 34 games. In a year where the Braves will take any win they can get, not having a dependable arm out of the bullpen to close games has cost them.
