Texas Rangers Starting Pitcher Jacob deGrom continued his strong season with a masterful outing last night on the road against the Baltimore Orioles. He had a perfect game through 6 innings and did not allow his first hit until the bottom of the 8th inning.

deGrom ended the game with seven scoreless innings and punching out seven. His performance helped the Rangers prevail 7-0. The star pitcher has been great this season. He is fourth in the league in wins, fourth in ERA, and second in WHIP. Will he continue pitching at such a high level this season?

Jacob deGrom Season Summary

deGrom has been one of the best pitchers in the league since debuting with the New York Mets in 2014. He came out of the gates to win Rookie of the Year. He is also a four-time MLB All-Star and a two-time Cy Young Award winner. The only issue for the star pitcher has been his inability to stay on the field.

He has not pitched a full season(excluding the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season) since 2019. The last half-decade of the ace’s career has been upended by injuries. The 2025 season has reminded the baseball world how dominant deGrom can be when fully healthy.

Final Thoughts

deGrom’s next scheduled start is against the Baltimore Orioles once more. He will look to have a similar amount of success the next time he toes the slab. Another stellar finish in Cy Young voting is on the horizon if the ace can keep pitching this well.
