The start of the collegiate baseball season is less than three weeks away, and the preseason Big 12 predictions have surfaced.

The Red Raiders have been predicted to have a strong finish in 2025 in the 14-team league, as Tech falls in at No. 5 in the coaches preseason poll. That makes the 11th consecutive season the Red Raiders land inside the top 5.

Part of the announcement was the selection of. a 16-player Preseason All-Big 12 team that included junior outfielder Damian Bravo

Bravo is coming off a huge 2024 season where he hit .378 with 21 doubles, 52 runs scored and 44 RBIs. His average was the 17th highest in program history and the best single-season mark since Josh Jung hit .392 in 2018.

The Big 12 continues to be dominated by No. 1 Oklahoma State, while newcomer and No. 2 Arizona will be a challenge, but the exit of traditional powerhouse teams of Texas and Oklahoma could open the door for a Horned Frog team eager to get back to the top of the conference rankings.

The Red Raiders open the 2025 season on Feb. 14 with a three-game road series at No. 6 North Carolina.
