The American League All-Star team has been revealed, and while there are plenty of big names taking the field in Philadelphia (welcome back to the starting lineup Byron Buxton and Mike Trout), a couple of big names will be noted by their absence.
New York Yankees star Aaron Judge has been out since May 31 and was never going to play despite being named a starter, and Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will now also miss participating in the festivities.
Guerrero Jr. has struggled at the plate this season, with his lack of power specifically standing out. He announced that he’s going to skip the Midsummer Classic to work on some injuries that have been nagging him. Vladdy Jr.’s lack of power this season has been conspicuous, with the eight-year veteran recording just four homers through 85 contests after hitting at least 23 in each of the previous five years.
“It’s very difficult for me, but I really have to take care of myself and I’ve got to put my team first for the second half,” he said, with the Blue Jays sitting 11.5-games out of first in the A.L. East after pushing the Dodgers to extra-innings in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to be named a 2026 American League All-Star can you name in five minutes?
