What a difference a few months have made for Rays starting pitcher Freddy Peralta.
He began the season as the New York Mets Opening Day starting pitcher, but was one of many Metropolitans who disappointed in Queens. After posting a 4.99 ERA in 22 starts for New York, he was shipped to the Tampa Bay Rays at this year’s trade deadline.
Now, with two playoff starts under his belt, he’s proving to be a valuable acquisition. After shutting down the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the ALDS, he tossed another six innings of four-hit, shutout ball with six strikeouts against Cleveland to help the Rays even the ALCS at 1-1. With the series shifting to Cleveland for Game 3, it was imperative for the Rays to get a win at Tropicana Field, where they finished tied with the Brewers for the most home wins in MLB.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Since joining the Rays, Peralta has looked much more like the pitcher who has started on Opening Day in each of the previous three seasons between Milwaukee and New York. With that being said, can you name every 2026 Opening Day starting pitchers?
Good luck!
