Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani took the mound for the first time without also hitting this season, and the New York Mets paid the price.
Focusing solely on pitching, Ohtani struck out 10 Mets while allowing just two hits and one run in six innings. He also reached 100 miles-per-hour in the third inning, blowing a fastball past a struggling Francisco Lindor.
Ohtani was just 1-for-6 at the plate in games he also pitched this season with three walks and three strikeouts. In his 15 other games as just a batter, he’s bashed five home runs and driven in 10 runs.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Ohtani improved to 2-0 on the season with a microscopic 0.50 ERA and 18 K’s in 18 innings over three starts in 2026. With that being said, can you name the active MLB pitchers with at least one 200-strikeout season?
Good luck!
