The 'Active MLB 1K-hit club' quiz

The Boston Red Sox began their series with the Seattle Mariners coming off of a 16-1 loss to the New York Yankees that cost them the season series to the Bronx Bombers.

They quickly put the bad vibes of losing a combined 25-3 their last two games, with Trevor Story hitting a  walk-off single in the 10th in just his second game since May. Story has once again missed significant time with injury this season, but he could be a valuable addition to the lineup as we enter the final month of the MLB regular season.

Story played his lone full-campaign in five seasons with the Red Sox last year and was a productive hitter, slashing .263/.308/.433 with 25 home runs and 96 RBI. In the Wild Card round against the Yankees – their likely playoff opponent once again – he went 5-for-13 with a homer and three RBI and a stolen base in the series loss.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. The single was Story’s 1,108th hit of his Major League career, and he’s one of 65 active MLB players with at least 1,000 hits. How many of those players can you name in eight minutes?

Good luck!
