The 'A.L. and N.L. strikeout leaders since 2000' quiz

The Major League Baseball Wild Card round begins today, and fans are getting treated to the best rivalry in baseball with the Boston Red Sox taking on the New York Yankees in New York.

For the Red Sox first postseason appearance since 2021, they’ll send out ace Garrett Crochet, who has handled the Yankees in 2025. He’s 3-0 in four starts against the Bronx Bombers, and the Red Sox are 4-0 overall when takes on New York’s powerful lineup. His worst outing was a six-inning, five run effort where he still recorded nine strikeouts and over four outings Crochet has struck out 39 total Yankees. 

The silver lining for New York is that Game 1 of the Wild Card series will be Crochet’s first-career playoff start, with just three total innings under his playoff belt so far. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Crochet’s 255 strikeouts led all of MLB in 2025. With that being said, can you name every pitcher to lead their league in strikeouts since 2000?
