The Dodgers Are Enjoying An Important Field Trip

The Los Angeles Dodgers made their way to New York City this week to take on the New York Mets.

So far, the three-game series has started off quite well for them, as they defeated the Mets, 4-3, last night in the opener.

Today, however, they’re taking a little field trip before the second game of the series.

The Dodgers took some time out of their day to go to the Jackie Robinson Museum in New York City and pay homage to one of their franchise legends.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic tweeted a photo of manager Dave Roberts enjoying his time at the museum.

Dodgers Pay Homage To Robinson

This is a nice fun activity for the Dodgers today.

It’s also incredibly important.

They understand what Jackie Robinson meant to their organization and to the game of baseball as a whole.

Robinson played his entire MLB career with the Dodgers when they were still in Brooklyn and made such an important impact on baseball and the entire sports world.

He was of course the player who broke the color barrier on April 15 of 1947, hence why all teams wear No. 42 on that day.

The museum certainly contains tons of artifacts from his legendary career, as well as important and interesting facts about his life and everything he had to go through just to simply play the game he loved.

That’s why it’s important for the Dodgers to take time out of their day to pay a visit to the museum and honor their franchise legend.

Robinson truly changed the game and paved the way for so many other African-American baseball players.

The Dodgers chose their team activity for the day wisely.
