The Dodgers Stand Out In An Elite MLB Statistic
Kiyoshi Mio-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers ran away with the NL West in 2022, winning 111 games and burying the San Diego Padres.

Los Angeles has won nine division titles in the last 10 years and has reached the World Series three out of the last five years, winning in 2020.

Since 2013, the Dodgers have been a mainstay in the postseason, having gone as far as the NLCS six times.

But dominant regular season records have been what has carried the team to the postseason each year.

In fact, in the last 10 years, the Dodgers have won the most regular season games of any team in baseball.

Dodgers Lead Elite Class

Coming in a distant second to the Dodgers’ 931 regular season wins are the New York Yankees, who have won 858 regular season games since 2013.

The St. Louis Cardinals are third on the list with 848.

The Cleveland Guardians and Houston Astros round out the top five, with 845 and 832, respectively.

But the Dodgers are the cream of the crop in terms of regular season wins.

Still, regular season wins don’t tell the whole story.

Twice this decade, the team that has gone on to win the World Series has won just 88 regular season games.

The San Francisco Giants won 88 games in 2014, earning the second NL Wild Card and going on to win the World Series.

The Atlanta Braves in 2021 are also a prime example of such an occurrence, having also won just 88 games in the regular season before going on an epic postseason run.

So while the Dodgers hold all the cards in terms of regular season wins, that category in and of itself does not tell the full story.
