Happy 23rd birthday to the fourth-overall pick in the 2024 MLB Amateur Draft and 2025 Silver Slugger and American League Rookie of the Year, Nick Kurtz!
After three seasons at Wake Forest, Kurtz rocketed through Athletics’ minor league system. He made his MLB debut on April 23, 2025 and played in 117 games as a rookie. He quickly became one of the most exciting young hitters in baseball, mashing 28 dingers in his first big league season and authoring one of the most productive single games of all-time. On July 25 against the Houston Astros, Kurtz became one of 19 players in MLB history with four home runs in the same game. He also added a double and a single, finishing the contest 6-for-6 with eight RBIs.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the 19 players in Major League history to hit four home runs in a single game can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
