The 'Last 40-homer season by MLB team' quiz

The New York Yankees returned to the diamond for their first Spring Training game on Friday, but Saturday’s clash against the Detroit Tigers will be fans first chance to see Aaron Judge

Judge, who is coming off of his third MVP-campaign in four seasons, is getting an earlier start to game action this spring as he’s set to captain Team USA at the World Baseball Classic in March.

With the Yankees losing to division-rival Toronto in the ALDS last year, Judge was recently asked about New York’s sluggish start to free agency in the offseason.

“Early on, it was pretty tough to watch. I'm like, 'Man, we're the New York Yankees, let's go out there and get the right people, get the right pieces to go out there and finish this thing off,’” he said.

“We've got a special group of players here. We've got a good core, good young core. It was frustrating, but I think we're right where we need to be,” he added once the Yankees brought back the trio of Cody Bellinger, Trent Grisham and Paul Goldschmidt.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Judge hit 53 home runs with 114 RBI and with an American League single-season record of 36 intentional walks. With that being said, can you name the most recent player with 40 home runs in a season for each MLB franchise?

Good luck!
