Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara hasn’t been the dominant pitcher he was in his 2022 Cy Young campaign, but he rediscovered some of that dominance in the Marlins 10-0 win over the Chicago White Sox.
Alcantara went all nine innings for Miami, allowing just three hits and striking out seven hitters and walking none on just 93 pitches to continue a red-hot start to 2026 for both the Marlins and himself. The veteran in his 10th season started Opening Day, when he threw seven innings of one-run ball.
While admittedly playing two teams who aren’t expected to be great this year in the Rockies and White Sox, the Marlins are 5-1 and find themselves atop the National League East.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. It was the first complete game shutout by a Marlins starting pitcher since Braxton Garrett did it against the Arizona D-Backs in 2024 and the sixth of Alcantara's career. With that being said, can you name the last player with a complete game shutout for each MLB team?
Good luck!
