The Los Angeles Dodgers find themselves in a scary situation this Halloween, heading to Toronto and on the brink of elimination for the World Series at the hands of the Blue Jays. The good thing for Los Angeles is that they’ll trot out Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the back of two-straight complete game efforts, including one in Toronto just six days ago.
In Game 2 of the World Series Yamamoto allowed just one run on four hits with eight strikeouts and no walks after allowing one run on three hits in Game 2 of the NLCS against Milwaukee. With the season on the line and the struggles of the Dodgers bullpen, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts is probably hoping lightning will strike a third time for Yamamoto to force a winner-take-all Game 7.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the most recent pitchers to throw a complete game in the MLB playoffs for each franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
