The 'MLB active hit leaders' quiz

Happy 32nd birthday to three-time MLB All-Star, 2019 Silver Slugger, 2024 Gold Glover and two-time World Series champion, Alex Bregman!

Bregman is entering his 11th big league season and the first of his five-year, $175 million contract with the Chicago Cubs. He spent the first nine years of his career with the Houston Astros, where he led all of baseball in doubles with 51 in 2018 before posting his most productive season across the board in 2019. He mashed a career-high 41 home runs with 112 RBIs while also leading the majors in walks with 119.

While his first World Series title is marred in the eyes of many fans thanks to the Astros infamous sign-stealing operation in 2017, he got a “legitimate,” ring five seasons later in 2022. He was granted free agency by Houston two years later, playing one season with the Boston Red Sox before signing his mega-deal in January.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Despite starting the 2026 campaign 1-for-9 at the plate, Bregman is one of 32 active MLB players with at least 1,200 hits in his career. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
