Happy 47th birthday to six-time MLB All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger and 2008 World Series champion, Chase Utley!
Utley played 16 Major League seasons, spending the majority of his productive years with the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2006, Utley led the National League in runs scored and led all of baseball in hit-by-pitches each season from 2007-2009. In his one championship campaign, he hit .292 with 33 home runs and 104 RBI.
Utley is also known as one of the players responsible for MLB changing the rules for players trying to slide into second base to break up double plays after his collision with Ruben Tejada that broke Tejada’s leg.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Utley was hit by the ninth-most pitches in MLB history in his career, getting plunked 204 times in 7,863 plate appearances. With that being said, can you name the MLB players to get hit by the most pitches in their career?
Good luck!
